How Leigh Trust turned invisible pupils into supported individuals
Leigh Trust serves over 3,800 pupils across seven primary schools in some of the UK's most economically deprived communities. Despite a strong culture of pastoral care, the trust faced a defining challenge: children who met academic expectations and maintained attendance, but were silently struggling.
After partnering with BounceTogether, the trust deployed validated wellbeing measures across every year group, from the Leuven Scale in EYFS through to the Stirling Children's Wellbeing Scale in upper primary. Automated alerts ensured that any concerning response triggered a same-day conversation with a designated adult.
The results reshaped their approach to pupil care, linking wellbeing data to safeguarding, attendance, behaviour, and attainment for the first time.
