This survey is structured around 10 scales.
Overall Scale
The Overall score represents a pupils emotional intelligence across several areas, helping schools to understand their strengths and where they may need support. It is important to remember that scores should also be reveiwed alongside other information, such as teacher observations/assessment to gain a full and complete picture.
Sub-scales
This subscale measures a pupils ability to manage and respond to their feelings effectively. A higher score could indicate they are better equipped to handle stress, recover from setbacks and control their emotional responses in challenging situations.
This score assesses a pupils capacity to adjust to new circumstances and changes in their environment. A high score could suggest they are flexible, resilient and can handle transitions with relative ease.
This subscale evaluates a pupil's skill in communicating their feelings clearly and appropriately. A higher score indicates a student is adept at articulating their emotions in a healthy and constructive manner.
This score reflects a student's ability to understand their own emotions and empathise with the feelings of others. A higher score demonstrates strong self-awareness and a well-developed capacity for empathy, allowing them to navigate social interactions more effectively.
This subscale measures the internal drive that propels a student toward their goals. A higher score signifies a student who is better at motivating themselves, persevering through challenges and demonstrating a strong sense of purpose.
This score reflects a young person's feelings of self-worth and confidence. It assesses their fundamental belief in themselves, their abilities and their value as an individual.
This subscale measures a student's tendency to act without thinking. A high score suggests a need to develop greater self-control and consider the consequences of their actions before acting.
This score assesses a student's ability to form and maintain healthy, positive friendships. A higher score indicates more successful and constructive interactions with peers.
This subscale measures a student's general mood and emotional outlook. A high score suggests a positive and optimistic disposition, indicating that the student typically maintains an upbeat emotional state.
