Teacher Subjective Wellbeing Questionnaire (TSWQ)

The TSWQ is an 8-item measure for assessing subjective wellbeing of teachers in the school environment. Much research has been conducted on teacher subjective wellbeing during the past decade, yet the majority of studies have targeted negative indicators of teacher functioning, such as stress and burnout whilst failing to account for the positive and, arguably, more important aspects of teachers’ successful and healthy functioning at work, such as positive affect and prosocial relationships. The TSWQ looks at a multi-dimensional view of a teachers psychological functioning at work in the areas of (1) School connectedness - feeling cared for by and relating well to others at school; and (2) Teaching efficacy - the extent to which the teacher believes he or she has the capacity to affect student performance
